Eight years after the fall of the Taliban, Afghan women are still fighting for justice and independence. Host Mariam Nawabi sits down with Corey Oser, deputy director of Women for Women International, a non profit organization which works to improve the rights, freedoms and status of women around the world in conflict and post-conflict countries; Imam Qari Zia of the Mustafa Center who provides religious counseling to the Afghan-American community of Washington and Northern Virginia; Irfana Anwar, an immigration lawyer who is the former co-director of the family law division of Karamah, Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights. Mariam also speaks with Rebecca Grossman, co-founder of the Grossman Burn Foundation in Kabul, to examine the tragic effects of hopelessness and isolation on one young Afghan girl.

  • if people started to read and get more educated on the stupid shit arabs do and the politics behind all of this injustice for women in afghanistan they wouldnt be so quick to judge. WHAT IGNORANT PEOPLE i cant believe this. always rememeber, no matter what has happened in afghanistan, never has there been a time that a woman has gotten raped and then got sent to jail and recieve 500 whip lashings because of gettin raped. but you can find all of that in beautiful saudi arabia. THINK ABOUT THAT

  • people are so quick to believe this crap becuase they have no idea what is going on here in afghanistan. i am a woman living in afghanistan and people would never open there mouths like this and start blaming the afghan people for injustices in the quran and islam. islam and extremely muslim countries are to blame. once arabs started pouring money and influence into afghanistan people started becoming this backward.

  • i cant believe people can actually belive this shit. how do these people think they have the right to blame afghanistans years of tradition and culture on the problems with Islam in the world. It is not afghanistan to blame it is Islam itself. a little bit of knowledge, before the 30 years of war, before the mujahideen and the taliban and the americans, women in afghanistan had freedom, independence and justice. and at that time we were still practicing our 'years and years of tradition'

  • I liked this program, because it goes to find a solution for the problems.

I think the best way to change women life in Afghanistan is focusing on next generation's Education.

for now it's too difficult to change the mind of the people who are above of 30years old.

  • actually this show is shown no Tolo tv.. and lots of people watch and comment on it.. in various afghan forums.

The host does a great job with this show.

  • This man makes some sense. He said the fact. But see , no one to even hear and comment on !!
