Barn owls use to nest inside deserted houses in lonely villages.they are very aware of human presence and can only be carefully observed,or they go away.during summer 2009 we had 3 youngsters growing in the house nearby(very noisy) and i managed to capture them in action.here they are shown hissing for food.the parents come occasionally ang handle them the prey.
they usually breed in March, hatch in May and get to leave the nest after summer,in September or October.

note they are completely wild but the flashlight i use doesn t seem to disturb them at all.

watch part 2 as well!! i get some good close shots in the end!
