  • i lived there in the 80;s

  • Ironic that they use the term "artist colony". That was how the town of Sausalito was promoted and by the late 1970's most of the artists that lived there were forced out financially and had to live as far as 300 miles away, then just ship their art to the galleries they used to live near. (search: history of Sausalito houseboat community, for starters). Another "artist colony" is San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. After becoming famously known for the artists, now the artists can't afford it.

  • @MrRedFredSaid

Yes, it was a random act of violence - a gang initiation. Relatively little crime up here.

  • Beautiful scenery. Seems a lot more cozy than Lake Arrowhead... and you two are fun.

  • I think Vista Point @ 2:00 is where an older German couple were killed some years ago from Cambodian (I think) gang members in Banning. They were visiting Southern California because their daughter lived there & decided to take a daytrip to get away from the LA area. Tragic.

  • I would recommend a helicopter lift to/from town from Idyllwild-- I travelled to Idyllwild from Perris, California, and I really FEEL for the Instructor I met who lives in Idyllwild, and travels 4 hours + to and from work in Perris..Just an idea I'd share with ANYONE who cares about the commutes those residences have to take.....

  • Why does the vid stop @ 2:01 ??
