Anyone who's played Nintendo's "StarFox 64" and seen Roland Emmerich's 1996 blockbuster "Independence Day" would've most likely recognized the obvious homage to the movie in the level "Katina".

It has the huge spaceship, the alien fighters, the giant turquoise death ray, and the vital groundbase that is about to be nuked by aforementioned death ray.

The only thing missing was Randy Quaid's awesome kamikaze attack.
