@HuaYifu Yeah, and they had to bribe and blackmail The Doors--the only one of those bad-arse groups who couldn't wait to tell Jac Holzman where to shove it--to stay for two more albums. Apparently, Elektra threw a big party to persuade them to stay, and as Jim Morrison and Pamela Courson left that night, Pam said, "And just in case we're all on Atlantic Records with MC5 next year, thanks for the lovely party!" Priceless!

electra records used to be great, they signed up crazy revolutionary groups like the mc5, david peel and the lower east side, the stooges, etc and inspired a whole new generation of rock 'n' roll (punk rock); too bad all of those "troublemakers" got kicked off the label pretty soon

back when music actually stood for something. these guys were fuckin' subversive as they come -- communal living, organized social movements for all kinds of radicalism. too bad the singer was jailed for posessing a joint, a conspiracy if you ask me.
