posting again on behalf of my husband, under the fine / sand like gravel is a plant feeding substrate but we cant remember the name of it i'm afraid. I couldn't tell you if the plants prefer sand over other gravels as we never experimented, No we didn't use any Co2 foggers of any kind.

This tank has now gone to a friend of ours due to having babies and needing more space but the husband will be playing with a smaller tank soon ( he hopes)

I have some questions

Does sand work better for plants?

Do you need plant fertilizer?

Do you use a co2 generator ,what kind, and how do you diffuse it?

looks exactly like my old one with the holes cut out of the top for me fluval canister filters i had runnin..... god i miss tht tank :(

to anyone out there; what substrate should i use? I'm doing a med. light tank so I'm up to plant suggestions as well.
