This is like my all time favourite book ever!!! To be fair I think all books are getting a bit more raunchy nowadays like twilight and I can name a few more. I'm not particularly keen on twilight but that's because I prefer fairies more. I can't remember books like that when I was a school I think the only romantic type books me and my friends read were our mums mills and boons or I remember reading novels by Sarah Douglass lol
I myself love the series. It was unlike anything I had ever read before since I mostly borrowed mystery novels from my aunt. I read them and found this appealed to me. I wasn't away they were ya books.
so basically i always thought valiant was the first book then tithe then ironside? it works either way but i thought the order i read it in made more sence... there were time i thought maybe tithe could have come first but it all tied together just as nicely
I [sadly] read this book when I was 12, followed closely by the next two books in the trilogy. I had read Holly Black's books when I was in elementary school, and so now that I was older, the thought of reading teen novels by her intrigued me. I, at the time, was not very fond of the cursing and sex, but I got extremely into the ideas in each page. The second book, Valiant, consists of basically drugs and sex, and the last book summed up the previous two. even though I was just a 12-year-old at
I agree with you on pointless swearing and sexual content. While it doesn't bother me as much as it used to, I still think books for teens shouldn't be too explict unless it's trying to proove something or make a point. I've heard a lot of great things about this book though, and I love Holly Black's Spiderwick series for middle graders, so I'll be checking this out at some point.
I have read Holly Black's Curse Workers series. I liked it, but I don't know if I liked it enough to read anything else by her. Perhaps some day. Thanks for the review.

I have this book in my TBR pile, it has been there for over a year now. Maybe I should give it finally a try.
