Cambodia: SIHANOUK A PEACE MAKER (2of3) [EN]

WHILE Imperialist Vietcong and Vietminh use Cambodia as their second home to attack Imperialist American, they both draw in Cambodian to die for their colonist wars. Sihanouk did his best to stop his people from being brainwashed by the two muderouse Imperialists but it seem there were too many Yuon in the country who incited bitterly hatred of Khmer and Khmer. There were too many Vietcong roaming like fire out of control.

The North Vietnamese pledged their aim was to restore Sihanouk, and gullible Cambodian peasants and townpeoples foolishly believed them.

Hanoi's ultimate objective though was the total subjugation of all Indochina-Cambodia, Kampuchea Krom and Laos. For centuries Vietnam had sought the abundant granary that is the Cambodian heartland, having earlier pilfered the Mekong Delta from the Khmers. Vietnam is long and thin country with limited arable land and a large population and her cropland is often subject to nature's whim. But Vietnam's ambition to control Phnom Penh had to be unobtrusive and so Hanoi covertly sought domination of the Cambodian Communist Movement from the inside and the eventual placing in power in Phnom Penh of these puppet Khmer Communists. That was why North Vietnam had filtered the 4000 Khmer Communists to Hanoi after the 1954 Geneva Conference: to train and brainwash them, and release them into Cambodia en masse to take charge of the Cambodian Communist Movement when the time seemed ripe. That time looked to be from 1970 until now.

He is a smart Prince .He knew US public pressure ,he anticipated the US withdrawal from Vietnam,he used one stone to kill two birds and he knew that Lon Nol would multilate him if he go back to Cambodia in that time.He flip flop he policy just to avoid Viet.war.If there was no Lon Nol and AMOY HONG Cambodia would save from the wars.What a smart Prince!

Yeah, Sihanouk is a smart Prince. He had nothing to do with downfall of Cambodia. His double dealing has nothing to do with the downfall of his Kingdom. The destruction of Cambodia is caused by: the Vietnameses, the Americans, the Chineses, Lon Nol and other Khmer disloyal to him.

Sihanouk knew the strength of the Vietnamese army, he knew well that it's best to make peace with them than to fight them. Lon Nol and the Khmer Rouge didn't get this point. Both of them were obliterated by the Vietnamese force. Sure, the king might not be fond of Vietnamese, but he puts his emotion aside for the safety of its people. Sihanouk fought with a pen, Lon Nol and KR fought with guns. That's the difference.

In the eyes of Hanoi-Vietnamese communist, the French and the US were considered a loser. Hanoi talk and nice to the US at this time because Hanoi afraid of China-PLA invade the Vietnam. Hello American, wake up! according to the history, Hanoi willing to break any law and plays game two hands at the same time.
