yep, couldn't agree more brother. i don't know about the hobby dying though. our group is growing. i do find cowboy hats disdurbing. always better to keep negative things to ourselves. we make improvements to our impression as we are able. sometimes things we think are farby may not be that far off. i see allot of stainless steel out there though. its hard to eliminate all farbs. the 9th va. is a family oriented group and not over critical or strict about some of these things. thanks, james

Is that guy seriously wearing a wrist-watch in the middle of the event? I can understand keeping a few modern comforts around if that's what you're into, but at least keep that shit out of sight. That's just ridiculous.

@LighterThanADuck believe me i was not happy when i saw my watch in the video. i forgot to take it off. as for the butternut that my son was wearing has been replaced with a jean wool uniform. my mother makes most of our jackets and stuff now. we didn't have much at that time, it was the 2nd event that we were in. thanks, james

@bmartin983, What the fuck is with you annoying reenactors always having negative things to be said? This is reenacting, not the actual civil war. Everything is not perfect.

"fire at will", "load and hold". make believe commands from farbs. Show me in any drill manual those commands? Following Fire by files from the R or L, the troops fire at will.

@decapodproductions yeah us too except our group is slowly dying we have 2 teenagers myself and my friend kyle but it is nothing like yall have i have watched all the "what really happens at civil war reenactments" made by someone in your unit. We mainly have older guys who are starting to quit. I hope with the 150th coming up some people will join. We were proud to have 15 in our ranks out of those 15 two were not in our unit

hey i have watched other videos of your unit and yall seem to have a good time and by going out on the field yall are honoring the men of both sides who fought and all in all isn't that what is all about. Granted yes this unit does have some farb issues but heck mine does too and i know some hardcorers that have been doing this for YEARS and still have some farbs. Lets face it the hobby is dying and the last thing we need is for someone interested to read negative things and get the wrong idea.

i'm not a member of this unit but people need to stop calling them farbs you hardcores need to lighten up and accept the fact that the 1860's are over and we don't live in that time...what is so bad about the uniforms they wear they look like confederate uniforms to me
