Dakota G-AMPY touching down

This is the old girl landing at Speke Airport, Liverpool, after an unforgettable 15-minute flight round the Mersey Estuary on Sunday 24th June 2007. My Dad flew in this very same plane 50 years previously (and sat in the same seat as he did today!) when he was 6 - all the way from Liverpool to Lourdes in Southern France to make his First Holy Communion. That flight took 4.5 hours in those days. He said he felt as though it all happened only yesterday!

Yeah - shame they're taking themn out of passenger service this year as the Eurocrats don't think they're safe any more. Rhubarb!! G-AMPY may well have been one of the Daks that helped liberate Europe at the end of WWII!! That's gratitude for you . . . . . .
