It's on several sites and I found it on IGN. Then I googled around and a couple message boards mentioned finding bananas in weird places. The guy on the cheat page isn't very clear at all about the location of the first one (which makes the others appear) so I can't test it myself.

I got bored so I read some AE cheats and it said something about a red potted coconut or banana plant on this level near a Specter portrait (then there are subsequent hidden plants). Do you know anything about this or did the guy just make it up like most people on cheat pages?
