Yahoo!'s JavaScript architect Douglas Crockford continues his lecture series on the JavaScript programming language with a discussion of functions in JavaScript. "Functions are the very best part of JavaScript," Crockford says. "It's where the power is, it's where the beauty is." Watch the video to learn why.

  • I read Crockford a lot. But from my perspective, his examples are somehow too subjective. And they reflect his coding style more then they can serve for educational purposes.

  • A good primer on learning JavaScript functions although the examples aren't very good. The examples are either JavaScript functions that you rarely/never need or are engineered to bring up niche CS topics that are complicate and are irrelevant to learning JavaScript functions. Crockford has several lectures on JavaScript functions but they seem very similar; if you've seen one, you've seen them all. But, still, this is a great video to learn JavaScript if you haven't seen it yet.
