This is some video - a vintage hydraulic hauling a modern freight ! I'm not sure how it came about that the Western got involved but it's certainly great to see. I was surprised though that the driver didn't give you lineside photters any hornage considering how unique the train was...
Can you get the train sent my way next time, the 6M60 to Bescot would be just fine... !

@DownGrand1967 .i know the driver .robin gould .he has a colas 47 named after him robin of templecombe ..he do,snt give it much on the horns .he transfered from the somerset and dorset .in 1966 .to westbury .he drove westerns until they finished .hes now an inspector for colas .he still lives in westbury .

whenever this fine machine runs local to me .i never miss it. to think that its very nearly 33 years since these majestic machines were banished by br .D1015 .has only been back for 8 years .but it sure has travelled the uk .but myself i love to see it work in the west country .where it belongs .

@60103Henry i,ll tell you why .because those silver bullets would have been at quidhampton for a while probably with brakes seized on .and colas wanted a loco with the guts to move them .so they utiliesed the 1000 .rather than there inferior duffs
