Well with a strong enough airframe and engines to counter act weather conditions it should be fine with computer assistance.

If I recall correctly most of the more advance airships that were downed by storms were due to pilots not being able to keep up with the changing winds ultimately causing the ship to crash, and a computer should be able to prevent those types of failures for it can react far faster than any human can making the corrections needed to keep the ship stable.

Aeros-craft. I think it could really use the hyphenation.. as one word it's just awkward, so I agree. xD

Airships are not balloons. The helium is stored under such low pressure that it takes days to weeks, depending on the vehicle's size, to lose enough to affect buoyancy even with thousands of holes. Entire squadrons of WW1 planes emptied their guns into zeppelins with little results, and the repairs are tad bit simpler than fixing a shot up plane.

I think the Aeroscraft can take heavy winds. Maybe it'll go off course a little, but it won't be rolled over. The side engines and canards can be automated to fix that problem.
