Old Hoyt befriended a friend of mine who lived near where Hoyt played sometimes (Branson). He would stop by and ask my friend out for coffee a time or two every month. He just wanted a regular person to B.S. with I guess.

I got to meet him at the Palomino Night Club, in North Hollywood, California, in 1978.

No cover charge, drinks were $2, and gasoline was 50 cents a gallon. What a deal.
