http://www.steviesnacks.com - When playing in Box 1, especially during slow blues songs, Stevie Ray Vaughan would do this thing where he's pause on several notes during his descent, putting heavy vibrato on whenever he paused. That's what we'll look at in this lesson.

  • Why are you the only (as far as I know) guitar teacher (Certified) who tilts the neck to camera in such a way, as to make it EASIER to follow. I have always wondered about this. It just makes perfect sense to do it this way & not the 'face on' scenario. So logical. Thanks!

  • @OutbackAL I'll be honest, I don't know either. Baffles me as to how anyone can think a straight on shot is better. Maybe this angle gives people vertigo :-)

  • @OutbackAL although left handed players like myself get used to having to do twice as much effort, this different angle does give problems comprehension wise. Good thing his teaching is so good.

  • @esdenaze Keep in mind that as with any video lessons, not just mine, if you can download them (using Keepvid or through the podcast), if you open them in the VLC player, you can actually flip the video sideways to make it look lefthanded.

  • Nice. What amp are you using? Great tone!

  • @strasale That is the Avid Eleven Rack believe it or not, Super Reverb setting through 1x15 speaker cabinet model, and a bit of compression and EQ.

  • @srvgravesdime Forgot to say thanks!

  • Only one possible critique for this killer lesson: it starts in box 2 and moves to box 1.

  • Hey Anthony! Quick question, is this guitar you are using have an ebony fretboard?

    Thanks!

  • good lesson, thanks

  • As a Lefty Upside Down player, this has some advantages but even for "rightys" it is not always clear what notes are being hit. I much prefer a 45% angle out from the base of the neck, looking up the neck towards the tuning keys. Oh, and as a a LUD, I find 'neck to left" videos and instructional books to be a nightmare.

  • Killer !!! Love it.

  • @gr8bluesgtr

i'm a beginner player looking to make any sense of the fret board as possible...

i find it far more difficult than i ever imagined, that and strumming, like there's anything else ;-))) lol finger picking, so on an so forth...

"Box 1"?? i've never heard of this, it sounds like it could be a help, can you explain or tell me any specific video lesson of yours i should look at?

love the pov, seems so obvious ONLY when you've seen it (been shown it)...

    thanks for showing it :-)))

  • wowowowowow Thanx man, BTW what gauge strings do you use?? I use 11's and want to know if 11's or 12's really mess up your neck.
