It's feasible, but given the 2D movement it may not really be a good fit.

Oh the whole game moves on a 2D plane. This kind of remind me of X Beyond The Frontier. This genre of games needs to be revived.

Space trading / exploration are my favorites, i love GOF2 but i prefer a bigger galaxy ( 100,000 is more like it ), more ship options, and more stuff to do, and a cockpit view ( which is a todo list for drifter ). This game will be my favourite app / game EVER.

CANT WAIT, at the end, who else noticed the star that wasnt moving?, i think it was the one it zoomed out from.

As it looks like the little space ship always flies "up" on the screen no matter what way you turn the ship, it might be better to position the ship a little closer to the bottom of the screen. This would let you see more action in front of your ship, at the sacrifice of being seeing less action behind your ship. Centered view really only makes sense if you can fly or fire toward any edge of the screen, or control zoom (perhaps with sensor purchases) on ship.

Love my FPS Games but sometimes I wanna put a little more thought into things. I think they should defo bring back Space Trading games. Hope this is a good one.

I have a suggestion. Those stars/speed lines? Make 1 or 2 more layers in a different speed to give the game some more visual depth. Should probably make the game world a bit more vast, giving more meaning to the title "Drifter"
