The Story Behind "An Angel's Prayer"

Merry Christmas Friends and Family,




The holidays are in full swing and I pray that as this email comes across your desk you are finding time to take a deep breath and enjoy the true beauty and miracles of this season.

I want to pass along a Christmas miracle that has blessed my life and I hope it blesses your. In 2005, I was on the road with Up With People 75% of the time and when I was home in Colorado, I was living out of my car or at my friends' homes.

My walk with God had fallen to the wayside and I was struggling and lost. It was the Christmas Season and I had nothing to give my Mom. When I asked her what she would like for Christmas, she simply asked for a song about Christmas as her gift. It has always fills me with awe at how God can take the least and most broken and use them for His glory. I began to write lyrics about Christmas and my mind wandered to what the Christmas Angel might have felt and experienced upon seeing her precious God as a tiny baby in a lowly manger. I wrote the lyrics and music to "An Angel's Prayer" and gave it to my Mom for her Christmas gift. Her face lit
up when she heard my song and I knew this was one gift she would never forget.

In 2007, I won First Place in the International Christian Songwriter Contest for my song "An Angel's Prayer" and once again God's working in my life brought me to another level of faith and commitment to Him. Winning that award was what eventually brought me to Nashville where I have been singing, writing and ministering for the past 3 years.

This is very beautiful and heart touching. Excellent voice and very simple but powerful melody. You can feel through the music the struggle and love and pain the angel feels. Very well done!
