130i had no passengers, 135i had 1 passenger. Gears of 135i are much longer than 130i's. Shorter gears always ensure better acceleration as shown in video. Total weight of 135i was 200 kg's above 130i's. Start speed was 120 km/h.

  • Repelsteeltje12345, if you read the "About this Video" in the upper right part of the screen, you will see a full description of the way the test was performed. Engine wise the 130i was also an "out of the box" showroom model. Gears wise also. The 135i is absolutely the more powerfull car. But in certain circumstances, as shown in the video, when the 130i is in a better revrange due to it's shorter gearing, the difference can be very small.

  • if you'd started from parallel positions, I can guarantee the difference would have been greater. The air friction does make a difference.

  • Now i know how nice my 1-serie Bmw looking in other mirro's :D

  • The 135i has very long gears thus its 4th gear is as long as the 130i's 5th... the 135i does 120km/h + in 2nd, and around 175km/h+ in 3rd and 230km/h+ in 4th.... so its not really fair racing like that... the 135i is a shitload faster than a 130i, and its geared long as it had a thick flat torque curve that works better with longer gears... as soon as you boost the car with a chip, those longer gears make even more sense... mine runs a low 12 second 1/4mile on stock tyres.

  • well i live in germany and the 335i def didnt replace the 330i...i mean they have the same engine...the only difference is that the 335 got 2 turbos...well i gave my 330 back to bmw on july 4th and by the end of september ill have the 335i for 10 months...im already excited about finding out about the twin turbo magic ;)

  • R U sure, i thought that all coupes after model year 07 were no longer 330i (08 for sedans,) and became 335i with twin turbo

  • i got a '08 330i coupe and it goes like hell...dont need that twin turbo...just amazing to kill the rpm up to 7xxx...never want any other car again..

  • Just the most amazing looking cars BMW has designed.

  • Gaaap, wat is dat nou weer voor onzinnige opmerking? Het gaat hier over het vergelijk van een 130i en een 135i.

  • They are both in-line 6 cylinders.
