Released in 1963 on the HMV label this is the first of a few Joe Meek rarities i will be posting,Taken from the superb double cd The Alchemist Of Pop which is available to buy at Amazon and other stores now.
If anyone objects to the music or images in my videos please let me know and i will remove them.

  • Correct and I believe that one of her records(my favourite) If you Gotta pick a baby was released it was selling bucketloads and was set to make the top 10 when for some reason it was removed from the shelves.Dave Clarke Five and The Beatles ultimately topped the chart over the x-mas of 1963 but Fairground was a biggie.

  • I remember buying this one after hearing this one getting plenty of play on Radio Luxembourg at the time, and I also remember wondering why it wasn't a big hit. Why Glenda Collins never made the big time is one of the great unsolved mysteries!
