Here's some footage of my dogs at Christmas a few years ago. This was Scout's last Christmas during her cancer treatments. The other two dogs, Nova and Rusty, have also recently passed away. It will be very quiet this Christmas. :(

My dogs meant the world to me, and in a hundred lifetimes I could never repay them for all they've given me. But once a year we'd have a dog party on Christmas morning. The dogs loved unwrapping their gifts of squeaky toys, stuffed animals, and balls. Occasionally they'd argue over a particularly interesting toy, but would work it out and move on to something new. Their gifts were always wrapped in white tissue and placed under the tree by Santa on Christmas morning. Somehow they knew not to touch the presents that weren't wrapped that way, but annihilated the rest over a period of about 20 minutes.

I hope you enjoy watching my silly spoiled dogs on their favorite day.

  • what was inside?

  • @suckerfreelatino1

Mostly squeaky toys, balls, stuffed animals, that sort of thing. Dogs are very hard on toys, so they have to be replaced once in a while. ;)

  • I wouldn't want my dogs doing that

  • My dogs were very polite. They occasionally sniffed other gifts, but never, ever opened any that weren't wrapped in white tissue. Dogs are smart. I don't know how they know, but they often know what is meant for them and what isn't. :)

  • Lol, how do you keep them from peeking before Christmas?

  • Haha! They never bothered the presents wrapped in colored paper, only white tissue paper - and Santa left those on Christmas morning. ;)

Once the tree went up, they would check under it every day for white gifts. I hung bells on the bottom branches so I would know if they were into stuff while I was home. Occasionally I'd hear a jingle, and would see them snooping under the tree just like kids, but they just never did get into anything that wasn't wrapped in white tissue.

  • They are so clever to only open the presents wrapped in white paper! What a touching video and so lovely to see dogs so well cared for, it is clear how much you loved them.

  • Absolutely precious. What lucky pups to have lived with you, obviously loved and tenderly cared for. Thank you for sharing this with everyone.
