Between Truth and Lies Ch. 15

Joe's P.O.V.
The babies were due any day now. I hadn't let Alex out of my sight. She was too fragile.
"Alex, eat something please." I begged her.
She was laying in a hospital bed in pain. I felt like i needed to help her, but I was told I did enough. I'm the one who got her pregnant in the first place.
"No Joe...I'm not hungry..."
"Joe just let her sleep...she needs it." Demi walked in the room and handed Alex a bottle of water.
"Hey Dem can you call the nurse." Alex asked.
"Sure."
"Why do you need the nurse?" I asked anxious.
"To see how far along I am....I want them out..."
I sat in a chair next to her and placed my head in my hands. I was responsible for all of this.
I felt a hand grab my arm lightly and rub up and down. I looked over at Alex. She was crying, but smiling.
She pulled me onto the bed with her and laid her head on my shoulder.
"Thank you.." She whispered.
Everyone left the room to give us some privacy.
"Thank you for what?"
"Giving me children...and not leaving me...again.."
"Hey, you left me remember."
"I know, but still...you didnt leave when you found out I was pregnant."
I smiled and chuckled a little.
"Alex, I love you. I'm not going anywhere. I promise."

It was 3:30 in the morning and Alex was screaming. They gave her some sort of medicine to calm her down but it didnt work. Every nurse on the floor, except three, were in the room trying to quiet her.
"Alex...you need to calm down." One nurse said.
"She's ready!" Said another.
"Get some blankets!"
I was standing in the middle of the room, staring at Alex. I had never seen her like this before. Screaming, on the top of her lungs and crying out for some help.
"Are you going to hold her, or watch your children be born?" A nurse asked me.
I stared at her and then she rolled her eyes.
"I.."
"Boy, you better watch because she wont let anyone touch her."
"JOE!.." Alex yelled my name and brought me back to earth.
An then I realized it was no longer going to just be me and Alex. We were going to have two crying babies to take care of. So I better man up and help Alex get through this.

Alex's P.O.V.
I woke up to Joe sitting in a chair rocking and softly singing to a baby. Our baby.
"Joe.."
"Goodmorning Miss Alex. How are you today?" A nurse caught my attention. "Joseph has been wonderful with the babies.
"Morning." I smiled. "Can I brush my teeth?"
"Sure dear." She laughed. "My names Tia if you need anything."
"Ok, thank you Tia."
I got off my bed, bringing the IV in the bathroom with me. And then returning once my teeth were clean.
"Names?" A woman was talking to Joe.
"Alex? Joe smiled at me. "Name the kids."
Joe and I had two names picked out for each.
"Boy and girl dear. Boy was born two minutes before the girl. Both completely healthy." Tia walked in with a clipboard. "You would have named them last night, but you passed out after giving birth, you were so tired, i dont blame you."
"Can I hold them?"
Tia nodded and handed me the boy.
"Nicholas Joseph." I smiled. I knew his name right away. He looked like a Nicholas.
I handed Nick to Joe and held my little girl.
"Rose Alena."
Joe smiled. That was his favorite girl's name.
"Alright, children named and bathed. You get a check up and then you guys can go home tomorrow." Tia smiled and walked out of the room.
