Bought this game back then right when i hit the shops as it was another arcade game conversion. Sadly i quickly realised how this game is missing a vital thing that the arcade games have. Tough fast gameplay (best played using the key i recall) dosnt give you any space for errors at all. So where are the "continues" ? Worst is lvl 3 where you need to be extremely lucky and get a "tunnel to next stage" bonus or spend a good 40-ish lives. Why didnt someone ask their grandmother to playtest this game before it was released? Even she would have asked why lvl 3 is impossible. I recall only once getting past lvl 3 while using a cheat-poke. Some of the later lvls are also pretty hard so have like 100 continues wouldnt have been apropriate. Minor issues like the sometimes "slowdown/speedup" of the action can make you miss. Later lvls also has 1 or 2 places where the ball can get stuck. Ball dosnt exactly move like a ball would normally and you have little control in what direction/speed the ball will bounch to. All those are minor issues tho and it would have been a really classic conversion if it had had the "continues" im sure.

An ok game on the cpc. The sequel was better and just as hard.

Indeed the second one is much more fun and flexible with the lvls.
