Visit Manchester

Visitor numbers are down this year - I wonder if people are put off by the litter or because it's been raining nearly every day? The litter has got beyond a joke, and it's time for proper fines and to stop blaming visitors for it. Nothing we can do about the rain I suppose, but maybe we need a new covered shopping centre so there is more for visitors to do when it is raining? Or could we seed the clouds at weekends at least to give us a few hours of guaranteed good weather in the city centre?

No it's not - the north of England contains glorious countryside in the Dales; lovely coastal towns like Whity; fascinating cities like Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds; and fantastic historic towns like York and Chester. Don't judge half the country by one over-hyped and dirty provincial town that has a serious crime problem.

Visited both Manchester and Liverpool, am afraid to say Manchester is one dump compared to Liverpool and found the peole of Liverpool realy friendly compared to Manchester people who i found really unpleasant and chavvy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Unknownnsngr Exactly. The number of Rangers fans in the city centre was outrageous. I was walking to work at 8am and was accosted by a group of drunk scots then! Ive never seen any place trashed as bad as that!

These pictures must have been taken after the Europa cup final where Rangers fans trashed the city. It was all cleaned up the following morning. There is a little litter in Manchester but these pictures take it completely out of context

Frankly, if anyone from the south is watching this video and it's confirming your percieved stereotypical views of 'the north', then your ignorance is doing us a massive favour.
