168 feared dead in Iran plane crash. The passenger plane is thought to have crashed near the Iranian city of Qazvin, Iranian Press TV reported.

The Russian-made Tupolev plane went down near Jannat-abad village near Qazvin at 11:33 a.m. on Wednesday, the station reported.

All on board are "most probably" dead, the news station said, quoting Qazvin Police Chief Hossein Behzadpour.

Qazvin is the largest city in the province of Qazvin and is its capital, with an estimated population of 330,000.

It is about 140 kilometers (90 miles) northwest of the capital, Tehran.

  • @dn32844 Sanctions are forcing them use the fu..in Tupelovs instead Boeing or Airbus.

  • Fascist regime blames sanction on spare parts for this crash. Either they are too stupid or think rest of the world are. This plane was made by Russia, which has not participated on any sanction against Mullahs regime. Also Caspian airline is a joint venture company between Iran and Russia, which means they could maintain the plane in Iran or Russia.

    Second, they claim black boxes are too damaged to reveal information, Lie Lie Lie. These boxed are built to survive any such crashes.
