Doing the basic tuning on my Porsche 914 engine:

1 - set timing
2 - sync carbs
3 - set idle mixture

  • When adjusting the mixs on IDFs there is no need for the extra half turn. Tune for the max idle speed on each screw and leave it.

  • @udidwht - thanks for the comment... I'll have to try that.

  • I couldn't find a description of the engine on your website: Parts used, displacement ...

  • The specs are pretty close to a Jake Raby 2270 kit engine. I've gotten almost all of my parts from him, although it's not an official kit.

  • That's a good documentation... just wondering why is it that I don't see the distributor?

  • I want to convert my 914 1.7 to dual 40 dells..can I do this without sacrificing any power loss.( is my F.I. cam made for F.I. only? or will it be ok to do the change over with good power responce on the stock F.I. cam?) Thanks Eric

  • Thats a well made video. Cool video. I like the way you gave insight and information.

The only part that was a little hard to hear was the timing light part. But other then that it was a well made video! Good work!

  • Nice work!
