FPS is a genre, RPG is a genre, Platforming is a genre.
Murdering people in (1 to 3) big city(ies) with a circular map and cops/guards chasing you is not a genre. IT'S A FUCKING GTA RIPP-OFF.
A true 'sandbox' is more than that. (Ex: scribblenauts).

One of my favourite games of all time (damn serious about that)
This game is unbelievable (if you stick to it - it's a bit frustrating at the beginning, but once you get a decent character build - the game truly shines)
By far the easiest class to start is Royalty (best for first playthrough)
