@Trance1972 Yeah Vegas WAS for adults, but now there are kids. What are we supposed to do here? They are the ones who put movie theaters, bowling alley's and ice skating rinks in the casino's. Dont blame us, we are simply trying to entertain ourselves. We cant just sit around all day doing nothing, this is all coming from a 15 yr old girl that's lived in vegas for 7 yrs,

They used this hotel in the film CON AIR which stareed Nicolas Cage, John Cusack and John Malkovich. This was the main setting of the Vegas scenes like the crash of the plane, the road chase, and the trust of Poe and Larkin as they return to this place to reunite with his family. The door was the impact site of the plane. After filming, they demolised it for the Venetian.

I agree very much with bradybraidz and HouseOfGroove. They knocked this place down just after the Fall Comdex show in 96. I'm glad that I left a few days before they did it. With the economy the way it is today, I'll bet many of those operators wish that they had their older hotels back, without the debt load of their newer mega-hotels.

I agree. My parents took me to Vegas for my 21st Birthday, and there were kids running up and down the casino ailses, as the adults were trying to have a good time.
Vegas was once a place for the adults... it needs to become that, once again

It's sad to see a historical building imploded, especially with the history it had with the Rat Pack in the early 1960s
Vegas is a mere ghost of it's old days. Fricken kids everywhere and Disneyland attractions all over the place. Yuck! My late father Bill Rogers was the arranger and concuctor of the Frank Sinatra Orchestra and the Frank Sinatra Jr. Orchestra. He also did the Jerry Lewis Telethon arrangements for 20 years. He wrote for scores of people in Vegas including the Rat Pack guys and was a monster in his field. R.I.P. Dad. :) Bring back the MOB days when a musician could at least make a living there.

That's a damn shame - the birthplace of some of the most iconic people - especially Dino, Frank and Sammy! I would have made that place an untouchable landmark.
