  • @bigtown i have heard about detroit getting a robocop statue, they raised the money necessary for it over the internet, which is great, i guess that is clearly the "only in america" spirit , they are getting a sci-fi action hero statue who has always been associated with the city of detroit :D and the metallic robocop truly fits detroits` "industrial raw no-nonsense charm" because there is just something about detroit, heck i even find the name cool and unique. :) best greetings from germany :)

  • Detroit finally has an intelligent dedicated man as mayor. He's the first guy to come into office and say "what the fuck have you idiots been doing for years" He knows Detroits' challenges, and doesn't sugar coat the work needing to be done, by all Detroiters. Detroit is coming back people, you just have to be there to see it. It would be cool if the Youtubing "D" haters would learn to shut the fuck up though.

  • @CHUUMPASS They're bulldozing as we speak. Go Mayor Dave Bing, the Anti-Kwame. I love my Gotham.

  • @thaddeusj yeah but its not nice or safe. sadly. The politicians and politics have ruined all the awesome midwest industrial towns. Look at St.louis. Its not quite as bad as detroit but still. They both used to be amazing cities. sadly when factories close, and all that stuff that came about in the 60's through 90s has ruined midwest cities. Also that stuff has created more segregated areas. When it was suppose to do the opposite.

Im sad to see detroit all ruined by politically correctness

  • @DetroitisCrap313 the d isn't even close to #1 in murders so shutup

  • @DerSteiner88 Shut the hell up let u know detroit is still getting 4.8 billion dollars a year for tourism with 16 million tourists why don't you try it yourself and see

  • Downtown is a wonderful area! Love going down there. They are doing a great job with this area, hopefully it spreads to the rest of the city.

  • Are you f---ing kidding me?

a renaissance? GM is bankrupt and now owned by the unions and the gov. the people who wrecked it.

  • great pictures, i've seen a lot of rather shocking footage which the people link to the current economic hardship especially in the auto sector, but it is clearly to see that the abondoned areas in detroit have been aboandoned a long time ago and not just recently because of the downturn, they just need to bulldoze the areas and create space for public projects to come once the city gets in gear again.
