Children do come first, but not at the expense of teachers. You do not have to scapegoat anyone, in order to improve schools. And if this parent believes that her child can only "turn out okay" if he or she has a certain type of school, it shows that she is passing her responsibilities, to cultivate qualities in her child, on to others (a major problem, today). Teachers cannot raise your child for you, and parenting requires more than stocking the refrigerator and your child's wardrobe.
