I totally respect your comment but in all honesty, strapping the Compadre onto any Martin Backpacker in no way inhibits the sound waves emanating from the resonant chamber ( it only weighs 7 ounces which makes it pretty portable ). If you use the Backpacker gig bag to transport the guitar, the Compadre fits right inside as well. I also agree that the BPs are "fun" guitars - I take mine on vacations and like having the option to play without the strap - it's a comfortable way to play sometimes.
With all due respect to your lovely playing, I would think that strapping something on to the back would inhibit the limited vibrations that a teensy bodied travel guitar already has, in a bad way, not to mention that it sort of contradicts the portability thing if you have to carry this thing around with you, too. Travel guitars are what they are ~ fun but not exactly 'serious'. I have a couple of backpackers (one acoustic, one with a pickup). I think less is more. :)
