Here is a tutorial on making seed pots from newspaper, using a simple can as a mold. No special equipment is required. Once your seedlings are ready to be planted, gently peel back the bottom of the newspaper pot and plant whole. The newspaper will biodegrade in place!
@SpikenAL I gently set the pots filled with soil into a seedling tray and don't pick them up until planting time. So the bottom is not "locked", but rather folded. There are lots of options for egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, etc to try too!

Yes, i like the way the top locks but can the bottom be lock in ? and what about useing paper towel and toilet paper rolles, only need to do the bottom for them ? Thanks

I've watched about 10 newspaper pot videos, using similar but not identical methods...yours is my favorite! Good idea w/ using the lip to seal the seam, and I like your use of less paper than the full half sheet, folded. Great job! My son and I are going to make some for his class tomorrow!
