  • can you do color correction in this program?

  • @guitarguy1751 You can indeed. Give the demo a whirl. :)

  • @FXhomeHitFilm : Hey guys, I really wanna know: How the h*** do I tie like an effect, such as gun flare to specific frames, so it doesn't appear throughout the whole clip or movie? I'm running the demo version, if that matters. Please reply :) thinking of buying the program because of the simple interface and all that's included.

  • @mikkelme You can either trim the layer on the timeline so that it only covers the frames you want, or keyframe the muzzle flash to not be visible.

  • I already have AE. Is there anything other then price that's convincing enough to make me switch?

  • I just want to thank you guys over at fxhome for making awesome software. I have effectslab and compositelab. I am thinking of upgrading to hitfilm. I like that you included audio in this package. You guys are really helpful. Thanks!

  • is this the demo version

  • @Kegvman I think the particle generators are really good.

You can do stuff like make fire, put it over something and the fire will go round it, rather than just sit there.

But really After Effects is still much better. More professional. HitFIlm seems like a bit of a toy, much like FCPX is a toy (FCP7 isn't however).

  • @Kegvman defenitly not! after effects is the best animating software you can have...only thing i could imagine which is better in hitfilm is the 3d stuff...it's also possible in after effects, just more complicated

  • @Kegvman if it's an official version, not even your conscience. But maybe better 3d and better particle simulators. (workflow ae->blender->ae for each effect like slightly more realistic smoke (for example smoke raising from moving object) is really struggling.) I would NOT switch, maybe use both programs, but not stop using after effects. (But if you have an official version of AAE that you plan to completely stop using, I would need one, so... :D)

  • @HorrorIncorporated Yeah, it probably has, so I'm trying to mess around with the settings. Haven't really worked yet tho :p

  • @mikkelme Well, in the demo you can only upload videos that are thirty seconds or less, correct? Perhaps it has something to do with that. Most likely though, you have to match up the import video quality at export. For example, If your video is 360p and you try uploading it at 720p, the video comes up with bad quality.

  • @FXhomeHitFilm When I go to upload my video, it's in a really bad quality :S I only have 5GHz in total, and I'm running the demo. So is it "just" my computer or it being a demo, or something else?
