You've been mis informed. And if that's not the case then how come brushing your teeth twice a day AND flossing daily while avoiding certain foods HASNT gotten rid of your bad breath? Is it genetics? Is it life? Or is it because you haven't been properly attacking the problem?
Well it's really not hard to figure out why ...
Sure, bad dental hygiene and eating certain foods can increase the 'badness' of your breath but there's no argument about it, those are only secondary reasons and they don't actually tackle the problem itself.
You have to realize that those aren't solutions, they're simply workarounds for the problem, which is why even if you do them everyday you can count on them coming back the next (and so the cycle continues), but that's not what you want is it, you want to be freed from bad breath once and for all right?
Which is why to really get at the root of the problem there are two techniques which I know (from dozens of experiences) always have a positive effect. And they're not ridiculously difficult to try either, it's two very simple methods which once you understand the basis behind their effectiveness will have a completely different approach on how you use them in your fight to eliminate your bad breath.
The first one is flossing, and yes I know I said flossing isn't the solution but I lied, it really is! However most people don't floss deep enough which is the true problem. They come up with reasons like 'sensitive gums' or 'not enough time' but what they don't realize is that sensitive gums develop over time, and the longer plaque and bacteria build up in between your teeth, the nastier and more vile the smell it develops!
So just by flossing deeper and really 'cleaning' your mouth is a simple way to get rid of the 'intensity' of your bad breath.
The other simple yet effective method is none other then drinking water. Water is VERY important not only to the human body but to dental hygiene in particular. Water is crucial to creating saliva and saliva is the enemy of oral bacteria as we know it!
So by keeping your mouth dry and your body dehydrated you're actually AIDING the very bacteria that you're trying to stop. And since 80%+ of people are chronically de-hydrated it's easy to see what an immense effect just drinking more water every day can have on your bad breath.
Now these are just two among many of the techniques that I use on a regular basis to keep my bad breath under wraps, wanna know more? Click on the link under this video and find out exactly what you've been missing.

Try Oraltech Labs, It worked for me, although I will say it's not just do this and "bam your breath is cured" they make you change your entire mouth cleaning habits. So you end up doing it all their way. But in the end it becomes a daily habit. If you have bad breath you'll know it messes up your whole social life. They cover tonsil stones and post nasal drip so very helpful.
