  • There's a third way to say "yes" that I learned on a trip to Laos. "Chao" It's less formal than "douey," but more formal than "euh."

    I like to think of "douey" as a super respectful yes spoken to elders, while "chao" is a politely yes and "euh" is definitely colloquial/informal. Great video btw!!

  • Laotian language is real simple, because it is somewhat standardized, for example, you can say like the host just said at the end, the meaning could be many, but it is just the way you use it.  Thank you very much, kaup jai lye lye Von
