Do I need to use the Plastic Prep if my splash guards are brand new?

You can probably skip the Plastic Prep. I would recommend washing the plastic in warm, soapy water then drying them. Try not to handle them with your hands after you've washed them. Your hands have oils that might cause the paint to not stick.

Hello ManClubAustin, Im in the process of painting a complete new set of mudgaurds, I was just wondering how long it has been now since you painted them and if the paint has not cracked or flaked?

I painted them in December 2009, and they still look as good as the first day that I painted them. The prep work is the key! It takes time, but it can make or break your paint job.

I ordered my splash guards on clearance for like $50 and I bought the products you used in the video from Paintworldinc I will be spraying w/ Nighthawk Black Pearl. I'll post up a short video upon completion.

@KulLex Touche....however, I don't advise wearing your Sunday best while painting. Perhaps you can wear the tshirt that was given to you by the company that subsequently laid you off. I was actually unemployed when I shot that video.
