NO. WHite kids have a better school teachers, books, computers because they get more money. This country is suppose to have equal education & it does NOT. I've been to white & black schools.

White poverty is often ignored because (thanks to the media) it's stereotyped as a "Black" thing.

But if you read the books "All Souls" or "Nickel and Dimed" you'll see that when Whites are poor/hopeless it's for the same reasons as Black people; teen pregnancy, drink, drugs, neglect of education, absentee fathers.

Povert knows no color.

@Xplayers1112 yea by dad is abusive, left us when we were 16 and she raised us (2) by herself. and my bro has a girlfriend and a daughter and she still manges to do it. you can go to college with a heavy workload, but you cant take a lot of classes. maybe 2 per semester. i seen people do it.

@success4111 well did your mom raise u in the hood or in some rich white suburb where the children r spoiled and get everything they want? Also how many kids did she have to raise and did she have to worry about getting kicked out of her house b/c she couldn't pay rent since she had no job?...These are the things that this father has to deal with. Give him some credit, most fathers would've ditched his children in hard times.

@success4111 even if he did get full financial aid,its stressful enough taking care of kids by himself, dealing with school too would probably make him go crazy.

@MondoBeno poverty has no color, but unfortunately the statistics prove that poverty (historically) has been a plague in the minority (specifically Black and Hispanic ) community.

@Xplayers1112 well if he goes to college then how is gunna pay 4 bills. He already has a full time trying to keep his child from going down the worng path in his ghetto. Theres no way he can do well in school with all the stress he has on a daily basis. Face it my man, hiis family is in a viscious cycle that his children will be force to deal with too unless one of them get lucky and have amazing athletic or vocal talents. I wanna help all these ppl
