Drive Down Main Street of Cooktown

Just a qucik drive into town to check the mail. Give you an idea of the town. No traffic lights. Round-about only put in last year. No Big Macs thank goodness. Population something over 2,000.

Wow, when did you get a Roundabout? I worked in the hospital up there in around 2000... Good to see it. Bowls club for good food, and Top pub for a beer.. :)

@inghamtroy At least it wasn't traffic lights! Yup the other eateries around town are also good value as is the Top Pub!

This was awesome. My brother and sister in-law live there and I havent been able to get up there to visit. It was great being able to actually see where they live and work. Is there a place that the locals hang out at the most, especially the fisherman. I would love to just arrive and suprise them.

@itsreah Top pub, RSL, Bowls Club mainly for social life in the evening. Not sure if fishermen in one spot only but I could enquire around as have lots of locals on Cooktown Art Facebook. If you are using Facebook then become a friend of Cooktown Art and you can message the locals.
