NCL Jewel called on the port of St. Petersburg, Russia for two days. The port is industrial and we shared it with another cruise ship, so immigration staff was stretched thin to handle two megaships worth of passengers. The city itself is magnificent. There are canals, like in Venice and countless sights to see throughout the area. Visas were arranged by our tour company for us. Without a tour, you wouldn't be able to walk around the port area or just grab a taxi to town. As we drove through town on the tour bus you can see general views of town, Moscow Prospect, Peterhof Palace grounds with its lovely fountains, and the pier for the hydrofoil which crosses back to St. Pete town from Peterhof.
@nomint : ;-) ! Hi thanks for asking !! It was just .... GRANDIOOOOOSE !! Great town and I've been lucky enough to discover it under the snow and bright sun ! Magical atmosphere just like I was imaging it ! Huge prospect and I feel like I'll be back probably during the White nights to discover Peterhof for example.. Anyway, The Ermitage, Amirauty, Nevsky Prospekt, Isaac Cathedral, Kazan one, Mariisky Theatre.. A real pleasure. Many thanks again for your post and See U on U tube :-) !
