Janice McCabe may have a point. Maybe we should consider gender in children's books.

Some of the video is low quality. I can't upload the high quality version since it is larger than 20GB.

  • I really hope that miserable bitch sees this.

  • @PachucoDesigns

I think she would be proud of me if she saw this. She said herself that she wanted more people to think about gender in children's books and be aware of it. And I did just that.

  • Thanks for ruining my childhood! lol I never knew my favorite books from my younger years were so sexist o__O Ah well regardless now I know. This is a really good video and points.

  • @HappyAtheist76

Thanks Vanessa. Yeah I never thought about any of this either when I was kid. I used to love these books as a child too. I still probably wouldn't have thought of it if it wasn't for Janice and this little "study" of hers.

  • It gets even worse in the Simpsons

  • I know what I'm about to say isn't relevent to the video but I can't send a message. I'm on a cell phone. Kinda limited. lol Anyway it would be great to see you do a video on how men are negatively treated in family life. Just something I've been focusing more attention to and thought you might like the idea :) Also I'm going to do more videos about men's issues soon, once I get back up and running, if you're interested in watching them.

  • I agree with you about it being better to portray both genders equally, and to not get worked up about disproportionate numbers of boys and girls.

  • @Mectrixctic This is true.

  • @PachucoDesigns

The difference between idiots and rationalists is that rationalists know when they're wrong.

  • @theignoredgender I'm sure she'd love having her double standard come back to slap her in the face. I know that I would. :)

  • @GueiGirl In a world where are lifting crappy authors on our shoulders, characters of both genders suffer, to be sure. I say this as an aspiring author, myself.
