This is so right... i told some people about it and they were put off by the time. even the guy i heard about this from didnt turn up, and he apaprently loves zombies, and he only lives like 10 minutes from leicster square gardens!!!

The event lasted the morning. Loads of zombies wandered off afterwards to munch on folk elsewhere.

The record is held by the undead of Pittsburgh, 894 of which gathered at Monroeville Mall (the mall from the original Dawn Of The Dead) in October 2006. There are some vids from the event here on YouTube - search for Zombie Walk Pittsburgh

I don't think that we broke the record, but it was a good turn-out and a fun morning. I'm really glad I made the effort. I reckon that the early-morning nature of the event will have kept some people at home who would have otherwise have made it along - though getting up at 7am did help me get into character. Heh...
