Mansions of the Lord

This is the hymn sung at the end of the movie "We Were Soldiers". I felt the hymn was beautiful and just put in the lyrics and some relevant pictures. If there is a statement to be made here it is simply that we mourn the loss of so many of my generation and hope they are in a better place.

Kind of like throwing spitwads in church....it just isn't done!

I was at the OKC Memorial once and saw a couple of young boys skipping quarters out across the reflecting pool. Even though their parents were nearby and obviously saw and by inaction, approved of the behavior, I calmly walked over to them and told them to "cut that s--- out! Yeah you!"

Guess I have little tolerance for irreverence.

Oh, and the person who "disliked"? Probably just hit the wrong button.

You are right, we would kick their asses. But how many of our citizens would die first? Thats why you take the fight to them, in their caves and rat holes. Some wars are fought out of self-defense (like France/Poland/Uk in the WW2) but some wars are fought out of the interests of small group of people...poor young guys who gave their lifes for filling the pockets of others (oil, land, financial interests, etc)..That's just too wrong. 2000 years from now the history books will tell a tale of a time when man went to war, kill each other for money. These books will also say how the governments lured young guys to war...our descendants will see.

This is the best song ever. I love how the pictures were put together. My favorite was when the guy was reaching out to the memorial block and his fellow soldiers were reaching to him from it. Thank you SO much for putting this up.

I dont know why, but that line just gets me every time. So simple and so immensely powerful.

I just wish there was a recording with an "Amen" cadence. I fear the PC police may have stopped it. I hope that's not the case. It's not about some individual's feelings. This is about the greater good. And no matter how bad we think we have it here, it is always better than living in any other country.
