Why does no one acknowledge the fact that artists change over time. Their mindsets change, and their lyrics change. They grow up and mature.

Marilyn Manson has absolutely no reason whatsoever to go back to making music like he used. What the hell would he say?

"Everything has been said before, there's nothing left to say any more"

I think that quote sums it up.

If you actually pay attention to the lyrical content of his music, you'd realize that it wouldn't make sense for him to go back.

I don't buy the whole "artistic growth" shit...Every bands starts off with what they consider is their best they can ever come with and most agree which is why they become popular...That's why no straight to radio band is never good because it's already watered down to appeal to the stupid masses..Then they just keep watering it down while coming to the realization they either have to keep making music until they're old or just quit..we call that selling out

@brynn GOAG was way deeper than alot of people give it credit .....it was actually pretty good if u look at some songs as the parodies that they really are (this is the new shit, dol dagga ziggety zag etc)

and the title song was pretty darn good if it didnt sound like a piano on fire.

The time you spend complaining on this site could be spent writing your own songs, to right all these supposed "musical wrongs" and really show everybody how it's fucking done. Or just keep on wasting away. Whatever. If you had been in the game for 20 years, like Marilyn Manson has, you would probably really be leaning in the direction of shutting the fuck up, right about now. Just a thought.................

All art is all about dynamic, contrast, evolution and change. Slayer and AC/DC really are the only exceptions to what I'm talking about. And we love them for it. If you only like one album, one era, one what-the-fuck-ever of a certain band, then how about trying this....... ONLY LISTEN TO THAT ONE ALBUM, ERA, OR WHAT-THE-FUCK-EVER. Quit wasting your time posting comments on music that you don't enjoy.

To a few of the people who have commented here ----- Music is NOTHING without artistic growth. I repeat : NOTHING. Most "fans" don't realize how absolutely boring and unsatisfying it would actually be for artists/musicians to keep making the same albums, over and over. Where would music be, without artisitic growth??? Really think about it. What if The Beatles had never evolved?? What if NIN, The Melvins, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, or Radiohead had never evolved?? @dantedraco ahahhah well i think redeemer on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack was okay. That's about it. Yeah Golden Age kind sucked. It was like like "hey i wanna put it in your ass, I'm a bad ass rockstar" kind of thing. Good artists always end up sucking. waa waaa.

@brynn yea soundtrack songs are not always the best. Many covers, songs that were not put on a record, ect. I didn't like Golden Years much either and that was a Bowie cover that ended up on some MTV movie. LOL
