  • I think Other martial arts say muay Thai for example come with a certain arrogance. I mean on countless videos people doing MT assume they can beat everyone ever in a fight. I think aikido comes with subtelty. I have yet to see a comment on YouTube where someone who does aikido boasts about a fight. I have seen mabye 2 comments where an aikido pupil has ever had to use it. I think that sums up the name 'art of peace and harmony'. Am I talking rubbish or does anyone even slightly agree.

  • It's not often you need to use these, but they are VERY effective when they become second nature.

  • @JarJarAssault aikido is a martial ART.. is not a martial COMBAT... altough it can be anything... i think aikido is what i ocmpare to pro wrestling... its more of learning a way of life a way of conduct ..a way of experiencing relationship with others and yourself .. and hte world...

with the seriousness of reality having a chance to look at it in a much friendlier and loving way..

its not about hurting or throwing someone as it might seem

  • YOU ARE A GOOD TEACHER . I WISH I WERE UR STUDENT

  • I've never been a fan of posting aikido instructional videos openly online, but, I must say, your words were well chosen. After thirty three years plus of aikido studies, I'm still working on the 'being a better person part.'

  • when i got jumped by 5 people cant say it was skill, but the adrenaline rush took over and they went running afterwards, I couldnt explain to anyone how I did anything cause i litteraly blacked out. I would rather actually learn something better and use that adrenaline rush as plan B instead of throwin people around without realising what im doin.

  • @JarJarAssault That's because Muay Thai, for example, while undoubtedly effective is also very violent in its approach to conflict. This violence appeals to a lot of arrogant types out there who join under the guise of learning the style for sport/self-defense. In actuality many are just glorified morons looking for a quick way to build their fighting prowess, inflate their ego and/or bully others. Such is the downside of many martial systems where the human ego is the flaw.

  • @TruthUnderFire and even more effective when they become FIRST NATURE!!!

  • @JarJarAssault true dat

  • @JarJarAssault i agree i cant wait to start aikido myself
