The young Kissin was really something. I wish he still played like this.

  • Thanks for posting this. Beautiful playing! Is this from the Japan recital by the way?

  • yes, it's from a 1987 Japan recital

  • These comments are so depressing. Why can't you guys just listen and enjoy the music for what it is? Why does everything have to come down to stupid pointless comparisons between different pianists? Just listen to what you like, but don't knock other people for liking something different to you.

  • Kissin is always number 1 to me!

  • Listen to Rachmaninoff and Gilels play "Lilacs" :-)

  • Beautiful playing!

  • Seriously, though, this is a remarkable interpretation and I think Kissin is a miracle! God bless him!

  • @0911926166 This is an arrangement of a song by Rachmaninov called "The Lilacs" which I have loosely translated below: In the morning at dawn, On dewy grass, I go out to breathe in the freshness of the morning; And in the fragrant shade Where lilacs crowd together I go out searching for happiness. In life, to me happiness goes out in one single sentence: And that happiness lives in lilacs;--- On green branches, On fragrant tufts, My poor happiness blooms.
  • I want to get his parents a bumper sticker that says: 'Proud Parent of a Musical Prodigy"

  • Sorry , I want to say he is far more better than many young pianists nowday. Very musical inside.

  • He is a real artist . He is one of my favourite young pianist. Thank you for loading this precious concert video.

  • Gifted young performer! [sigh...]

  • Rachmaninoff plays this and it's beautiful.

  • what's the meaning of lilacs??
