  • What schoool was this that did this show? how big is your stage and how big is your pit for the band??? O.o it looks huge!

  • @STYXfAn1234

    north allegheny school district

    we're located in pittsburgh, pennsylvania

just a massive public school with great funding and appreciation for the arts

and haha it's all as big as it looks. our auditorium seats almost 2k i believe? roughly under maybe.

our pit isn't really a pit technically, but just a huge gap before the stage. and our stage is roughly as big as any performance stage.

  • This may sound like a stupid question, but how long did it take most of the actors to do their make up??

  • @santastocker911

    nonsense.

we had one initial "demo" makeup instruction to decide on a face (with the help of the parent volunteers).

but after that, we were almost entirely on our own.

we did our makeup in two separate shifts, each forty-five minutes long.

the first shift was mostly composed of the featured roles and those who had to be on stage for their mic-checks.

the second shift was more-or-less last call.

hope this answers your question :D

  • any idea why the btempo was increased in the songs, the only time i've heard it that fast is on the rcordings but that's only because thery try to cram as much of each act onto the disc

  • @Disneydanny

haha actually, it's precisely that reason.

it was either 3 segments, one of which would be less than a minute, or an increased tempo.

i chose the increased tempo for 2 :D

  • Your in Pittsburg? Haha that might explain the large school im in a tiny little town in Pa hehe

  • Is the song from 7:37 onwards "No Buisness Like Show Buisness"? We used that song for my school production of "Cluedo: The Musical".

  • @xtheproducersx Well most high school productions don't have make-up people so they have to just work together and do it on their own. We have make-up people at our school but I like doing it on my own and most of us do.

  • You have no idea how pleased i am to see all those actors doing their own make up. I've worked in different elements and now I have a completely different view of it all. Again the fact that these lovely people are doing their own make up (especially for a show like cats!) is the best! I remember the worse show to do hair and make up for was Anything Goes... 40+ person cast that had NO idea how to do their make up or pincurls. :P GREAT JOB!

  • go NA ya I go to carson

  • Kevin! Brooke! Nick! i know lots of kids in this production! :D im still sad i didn't make it :( or even get to go see it :( heard it was great though! :D

  • @ThatweirdkidDom That's awesome! The actors really get into there make up! When I was doing make up for the Willy Wonka cast at our school every actor really loved learning how to do their own make up! All the make up looks amazing!
