ok so im up to the restore part where you hold shift+click restore. when i click the firmware to make it 3.0 again it says 'extracting' then when it finishes, it says ipod can not be restored, error occurred (20). what did i do wrong

try running redsnow again (this worked with a friend of mine when he got the neverending "downloading")
if that doesn't work restore with itunes, downgrade again, follow this video from beginning (that's what i did)

everything works ..but a new upgrade is available "3.1.2" is there a jailbreak for this version yet ?

I'm having some trouble. I downloaded the firmware and redsn0w, but when i use redsnow and browse for the firmware, it says redsn0w could not recognize it. HELP ME

well the problem could be that you did not download the right firmware for your device! or i t could be you have an ipod 3g (if you bought your ipod touch before sept 14ish its a 3g) and a jailbreak is not out for that yet! hope this helps!

no you have to downgrade to 3.0, its really complicated and i might make a video on it.... but for now search how to do iton google, you should find some results!
