This is part one of an interview that John and Yoko gave to Jann Wenner, founder and publisher of Rolling Stone magazine, on December 8th, 1970. This is his first major post-Beatles interview and it contains some scathing criticism of The Beatles, Apple, and everyone in between. I consider this to be one of John's finest interviews.

  • great interview, but Guy Fawkes didn't blow up the houses of parliament :P

  • thx !!

  • @NeilFraudstrong I will if I ever meet her or contact her! That's new information for me, but I will take your word for it. I do believe you and Fred! But sometimes I have my doubts... yoko's story and mays/freds are so opposite... But I want to believe Fred's side so I will!

  • @kaitlinan

If you really don't believe Fred about the journals thing, ask May Pang. John told her the same thing about the journals.

  • @NeilFraudstrong haha! was everything he said was a lie? i think he at least read the journals, just reading his book, but besides like who took what journals and such... I don't know. The one thing that I feel questionable about when it comes to Fred Seaman is when he says the journals were suppose to be given to Julian... I don't feel John would do that...

  • @kaitlinan

Saying I "don't like" Robert Rosen is an insult to all the people I dislike. :D

He's beyond the bottom of the totem pole. A total slimy greaseball.

  • @NeilFraudstrong Yeah haha I know you don't like him, thanks for the info and reply :-)

  • @kaitlinan

To be honest, I try to think about Robert Rosen as little as humanly possible. He's an enormous scumbag. He makes me physically ill. John did enjoy being with May and it was not just a fling, they were quite serious. He pined for her until his dying day.

  • @NeilFraudstrong Thanks for replying so quickly! I'm so conflicted over John Lennon and May Pang... I want to believe John wanted to be with May but at the same time I can imagine John just pulling her leg... Have you read Robert Rosen's interview? He said John wrote about May a lot... (i think there must have been some truth to Rosen's book but not the Yoko-loving bits haha).

  • This interview, for me, is definitely the most interesting Lennon gave.
