  • In the infamous Dec 1972's 12-day Christmas Bombing of North Vietnam

34 B-52s (more than one in every three that participated in the bombing) were shot down + more than 50 other US aircrafts ; over a hundred crewmembers and pilots were taken prisoners. The North Vietnamese call it " Dien Bien Phu of the air ". And AP reported : "at this rate, the B-52s will all soon disappear from sight "...

  • Shillyshallyz is wrong. A total of 15 BUFFS were lost and not all of those lost crewmembers. And not all those were downed in NVN. In addition some of the crewmembers were captured and repatriated. Read the history shillyshallyz. I flew some of those missions, so don't try to blow smoke at everyone. PS -- it was called the "11 day war". 15 BUFFS will only hold 90 crewmembers.

  • Boeing needs to start up the assy line again. America need 200 more of these beautys on standby. And 100 needed to be airborne to Iran right now with over 50 Nuclear tip cruise missile on board each apparatus.

  • I've got a dichotomy on my hands... I hate everything that SAC was, but anyone who denies that the B-52 is the most effective war fighting aircraft of all time is a fucking idiot.

  • Give war a chance.

  • YEHAW!!!! 8D This bomber kicks some serious butt!

  • I'm proud to maintain this aircraft.

  • Best part of the video is 2:10 till 2:58

  • 2:10 - 3:00 REAL AIRCRAFT BATTLE, ..amazing

  • @soulboarder316 And how exactly do you know that? Also I'm pretty sure the reason they broke the engagement off was due to the falling airspeed. The reason I say that is because of the maneuvers the pilot executed when he broke off are intended to put space between the aggressor and the target.

  • @bondizz They did jump them from behind, the whole purpose was to get the F-16's to see if they could take out the B-52, and then the A-10's jumped them that's why you hear the 16 guy saying he's gotta get off that guy.
