  • This "director" is a ridiculous derelict. I feel for Mr. Bostridge and Mr. Drake. When working with someone who is not musical on a musical project one should defer in kind to the musicians during the musical portion.

I understand the need for a more subversive imagery but there is a proper and respectful way to go about it.

  • Why on earth does the intruder rob Romanticism of open space? Furthermore: Along with shrewdness and sensitivity, Muller´s poems and Schubert´s music contain quite a lot of fortitude. The recipients who resign to the latest of these values deserve to be pitied, rather than anything else.

  • @trumpetier17 this non-musician-guy sucks!!!!!! he is disgusting ... allthough he seems to have a brain and an insight in the song cycle. .. but some things go too far concerning this guy.... but ian is really great and gets his point across very convingcingly

  • 6:10-6:20 is the most awful thing I've ever seen on film. I feel sick. Non-musicians should NOT stop musicians unless they know how to do it respectfully. So awkward for the pianist...

  • Julius Drake looks a lot like Jack Nicholson... the killer smile :)

  • Although it is all right to try something "different" once in a while, one already knows that this song/poem is "classical" art of the highest order, and is therefore demanding of formality and restraint. This is a reality, and it is very appreciated by many, including myself.

  • @littleiceage yeah, Americans being creative and Europeans being too timid to try anything new

  • What Bostridge has to do is keep clear

of these types of idiots-otherwise he will sink down

to their mediocre level . They are too stupid

to understand the art of song so drag things down to their level .

  • "But then you look like a sort of mass murderer." LOL.
